IRET FOUNDATION

IRET is a non-profit foundation, composed of researchers devoted to the study the degenerative diseases of the central nervous system, such as multiple sclerosis, ataxia, Alzheimer's dementia, vascular dementia, Parkinson's disease and chronic pain.

IRET works to improve the quality of life of patients through a cutting-edge research activity. For neurodegenerative diseases, the available treatments are symptomatic and in a few cases able to modify the natural history of disease.

Therefore, research has a role of primary importance: there can not prevention and treatment without knowledge.

The research carried out and financed by IRET is aimed at identifying innovative strategies to combat the progression of these diseases, repair the damage and ascertain the causes to prevent their occurrence.

IRET indicates the 32nd Egyptian Dean or one of 36 parties with whom the Egyptians subdivided the sky. IRET means "eye", especially "eye of knowledge."
